AKA pionero or Chile pine, a living fossil, growing to 140 ft. in its native range of the Chilean Andes mountains, where it is the national tree. Endangered. The seeds are edible, like a very large pine nut, and the evergreen leaves stay attached over the entire surface of the tree and live up to 24 years each.
